We are thrilled to announce the premier of the “TRUNDLE CHEST™”!
The first piece of a hot new collection, designed by Professional House Planner, Jack Thomasson, the Trundle Chest™ is a classic piece of eco-friendly furniture featuring a function that encourages those entering a house to sit and remove their shoes and stow them in individual cubbies.
Placed in the foyer of a home, it may contribute one point toward the LEED Rating System (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) of the U.S. Green Building Council.
As a Professional House Planner and Green Expert, Jack says …
The first thing one can do to become more eco-friendly is simply “take off your shoes” when entering a home. Most people don’t realize the amount of toxins and bacteria that we carry around on the bottom of our shoes (think lawn chemicals, public restrooms, etc.). When we walk into our houses, we are carrying them directly into our homes and tracking them around the house. This is also true for pollen, which attaches easily to the bottom of our shoes. By simply removing our shoes as we enter our homes, we can greatly reduce the potentially harmful impact of these items. If you need to wear shoes in your home for foot support, etc., have an indoor pair that you only use inside your house.
Using poplar from sustainably managed forests and no VOC paint for environmentally conscious living, the Trundle Chest™, made in the USA, reminds us all to “exist responsibly.”
