Welcome to Responsible Existence™, a newly formed, family owned and operated company that started with one mission in mind…”To develop and represent innovative products designed for eco conscious consumers interested in an environmentally responsible existence.” Wow…we love that!!
Our parents taught us at an early age to appreciate and respect the gifts that each of us has to offer. They instilled in us a discipline to work hard and a belief that if we really wanted to accomplish something, pray hard and go for it! Now, as adults and parents, this is what we’ve done!
With very diverse educational backgrounds, we all went into areas we were passionate about. This would lead us into fields ranging from Education to Arts…to Sales, to Publishing, including the founding of a national magazine.
And yet as siblings, we found ourselves wanting to do something a little different, so we decided it was time to find a way to work together. Reflecting on our parents’ lessons, looking at what we were doing to our planet, and wanting to leave a lasting legacy for all our children, we determined to become a solution. So we founded Responsible Existence™ as a source for eco-friendly, environmentally conscious, and green products. We make them fun and fashionable, but with a purpose.
As a first step, Professional House Planner Jack Thomasson has allowed us to license his new collections! (Please see his bio on the home page of his website or visit our “About Jack” link.)
The first of two divisions is the Jack Thomasson ecoHOME Collection™. This is an assortment which includes furniture, currently the Trundle Chest, green in both form and function and soon to come, sustainably manufactured accessories. Our furniture is not only eco-friendly, but exquisitely made, high end and heirloom quality.
The second division is our jackT Collection™. It includes apparel for adults and children, is organic and/or manufactured with recycled materials, and is printed with water-based inks with messages of purpose and responsibility! This collection will be available in August of 2008.
While very few can live a totally green lifestyle, almost everyone has a desire to leave the world a better place. We believe anyone can take steps to become “a little more green.” We are proud to promote that our items encourage shades of green living for the benefit of this generation as well as those to come!
In addition to promoting our eco-friendly line of products, we will be purchasing carbon offsets reflective of the costs associated with the production of our lines.
Our father was a Farmer and a Horse Farm Manager. We had a family vegetable garden that would have been considered “organic” by today’s standards. (We had a milk cow too, but that’s another story.) Our Mother was an Artist and Educator. What a great combination of hard work and education to pass on to their children! As their legacy, we want to make them proud.
We know they are with us from above, helping us make wise decisions using everything they taught us and thrilled we’re all working together! We can hear them saying, “Those kids finally got their business and creative minds together….job well done!” We think they’d be proud!!
We hope you enjoy our new eco friendly lines as much as we have enjoyed developing them for you! We’ve put a lot of hours, hard work and love into this new venture of ours. We’ve had a blast! But most of all, we hope you love the purpose behind what we do. We also hope you’ll join us in becoming more “green” AND enjoy yourself during the process!
